Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years to promote Health, wellness, and treat illness. There is limited evidence on safety and efficacy of many herbs that might be safely used during pregnancy. His presentation will review the efficacy, safety, and use of many herbal remedies that can be safely used during the childbearing year.
Learning Objectives:
Objective 1: The participant will know the traditional and current use of herbs that aid in maintaining a healthy pregnancy.
Objective 2: The participant will know how to utilize specific plants that aid in addressing nausea, anemia, hypertension, labor and birth complications including chemical component and mechanism of action.
Objective 3: The participant will be know how to utilize specific herbs to treat acute problems during labor, birth, and immediate postpartum.
Objective 4: The participant will be know how to utilize specific herbs to treat acute problems during labor, birth, and immediate postpartum.
Objective 5: The participant will be able to identify these herbs from slide images.
